“Hi, I’m Safa! Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, overwhelming, or even a little awkward, and I believe finding the right therapist matters. My goal is to create a warm, authentic, and nonjudgmental space where you feel safe to show up exactly as you are.
As a South Asian Muslim woman and daughter of immigrants, I understand how our identities, cultures, families, and communities shape our experiences. I am passionate about providing culturally responsive care and enjoy working with adolescents, young adults, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, identity concerns, life transitions, and complex family relationships. I also welcome clients who wish to incorporate faith and spirituality into the counseling process.

My approach is person-centered, trauma-informed, and strengths-based. I draw from approaches such as ACT, DBT, Internal Family Systems (IFS), narrative therapy, mindfulness, and creative interventions to meet each person’s unique needs. I believe therapy works best as a collaborative partnership-one where I can offer guidance and new perspectives while honoring that you are the expert on your own life.

I have a special interest in adoption and foster care, attachment and identity development, and the ways that involvement with the criminal justice system can impact individuals and families. I also enjoy supporting individuals from marginalized and underserved communities and helping people make sense of experiences that may have left them feeling misunderstood, disconnected, or stuck.

I believe that many of our struggles make sense in the context of our experiences and that healing begins when we can approach ourselves with compassion and curiosity. Healing doesn’t always happen through tears-sometimes it happens through laughter, curiosity, and feeling truly understood. My hope is to help you make sense of your story, reconnect with your strengths, and move from surviving to thriving.”
