Denise Mozitis, LSW
Hi, I’m Denise.
Life can feel overwhelming at times, and reaching out for support isn’t always easy. My hope is that people leave my office knowing they don’t have to carry it by themselves. I believe healing begins in a space where you feel safe enough to be yourself, honest enough to say the quiet things out loud, and supported enough to discover that change is possible.
My style is warm, straightforward, and down-to-earth. I’ll meet you with compassion, curiosity, and honesty, even when conversations are uncomfortable. While therapy often explores difficult experiences, I don’t believe it has to feel heavy all the time. Sometimes healing comes through insight, and sometimes it comes from realizing we’re all human.
I earned my Master of Social Work from Rutgers University and am a Licensed Social Worker in New Jersey. I enjoy working with adolescents (12+), adults, and couples navigating anxiety, depression, substance use, relationship concerns, life transitions, and questions of identity and purpose. My approach is collaborative and person-centered, drawing from CBT, DBT, the Gottman Method, mindfulness, and trauma-informed practices. Together, we’ll find an approach that fits you.
Outside the therapy room, I find peace in nature, gardening, philosophy, reading, and quiet reflection. Those quiet moments keep me grounded and continue to shape the way I show up for the people I work with.
I believe therapy is an opportunity to better understand yourself, recognize the patterns that no longer serve you, and create space to live in a way that feels more intentional, authentic, and aligned with your values.
