Anger Management
Anger is a heavy emotion and the longer we hold it the heavier it gets. Are you feeling out of control? Do you do and say things in the heat of the moment that you later regret? Are you afraid you will lose control one day and suffer awful consequences or maybe you already suffered a consequence due to an outburst? Have others been afraid of you or avoided you due to angry outbursts?
Do you get angry and experience any or all of the following: the heat rising in your body, feeling your insides shake, muscle tenseness, feeling uncomfortable in your own skin, find yourself grinding your jaw or with your tongue plastered to the roof of your mouth, tension headaches, fatigue after an angry outburst, or waking up feeling angry and tense?
If you answered yes to any of these questions you might benefit from therapy. It is hard to admit that our anger can get the best of us. It’s difficult to experience the aftermath of the angry outburst as they are usually followed by guilt and shame. Asking our loved ones to forgive us for our actions or knowing that we scared them.
Anger issues are not uncommon, and they can lead to difficulties in our relationships, jobs, and all other aspects of our lives. Or we can choose a different path. Our therapists are skilled in cognitive behavioral therapy, EMDR, mindfulness and other therapies that can help you manage your anger.
You will work together with your therapist to find a plan that you like and will work for you. Together you will find coping skills that work for you and are easy to use.
